Description

Tamarind House is located just off the Anse Chastanet Road; approximately 1.5 miles from Soufriere and 5 minutes from Anse Chastanet beach. Covering 8850 sq ft of space, this exceptionally large house is constructed of local stone with high greenheart ceilings and Barbados tile floors throughout.

The main house has two bedrooms for adults with ensuite bathrooms which face the sea and Piton mountains.  The master bedroom is 640 sq ft and has a king bed, and the second bedroom is 415 sq ft and has a queen bed.  The third bedroom in the main house is suitable for children under 12 and has no views of the sea or Pitons.  It has a double and a single bed and an ensuite bathroom

The Cottage bedroom suite has three graceful stone arch openings and 30 foot high ceilings. Long white curtains at each door way billow out in the breeze. Two large 7 foot couches with blue and white cushions, a large coffee table and antique tables beside the king size red cedar four poster bed make this a wonderfully private, romantic space. A collection of paintings by St. Kitts artist Kate Spencer are on display here. A dressing area with chest of drawers, hanging cupboard and shelves leads into the marble tiled bathroom with shower. Exceptionally high quality 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, French linen bed covers and plush towels will pamper you. The Cottage has its own kitchen and terrace with dining table and chairs.

You can rent the main house for the base rate and the rental of the cottage and the main house would be at a higher charge.

The 35x15 foot totally private pool is situated below the Cottage and has 1060 sq ft of terrace and shade pavilion around it. The pool edge is open on one side to give uninterrupted views of the Pitons. There is also has a professional size tennis court with a Bioflex surface and of course superb views of the Pitons as you play. 

Tamarind House has been featured in Maco magazine and the book "Caribbean Elegance" by Michael Connors because of the large collection of antique West Indian furniture it contains. A staircase descending from the car park, leads you into a cool, circular courtyard filled with banana plants and flowers. As you pass through the graceful arched doorway, the enormous 2550 sq ft living room stretches away before you and leads to the terrace where the tamarind tree grows up out of the tiles. This fabulous tree provides shade and coolness to the house all through the day. The living room features two seven foot settees and a very large travertine stone coffee table. The dining table seats 6-8 and the wild breadfruit trestle table can be used for larger parties.

Tamarind House means different things to the people who have already experienced its beauty and legendary hospitality. The rare luxury of space and privacy. Room to relax, to breathe, to rejuvenate and dream. Happy memories of drinks and laughter under the tamarind tree. Long white curtains billowing in the breeze. Swimming in the pool under a full moon. 1-2 bedroom rate is for use of Main house only. This is the Master bedroom & Second bedroom, the cottage is not included.

3 bedroom rate is for use of whole property including the Cottage & main house along with the smaller kids room.

Bedrooms Detail:

2 main bedrooms + cottage suite - all with sea views. The 3rd bedroom in the main house ( suitable for children of 15 years of under ) does not have a sea view. No smoking in bedrooms.

Staff Detail:

Well trained staff including above average cooks, cleaners, gardener and caretaker. Cook and cleaners Monday to Saturday 9am to 3pm and evening cook service available at an additional fee. Staff are not optional and must come to work at least every other day.

Please note that our housekeepers are not trained nannies and should not be expected to look after and/or babysit infants and children. If you do make babysitting arrangements with the staff, please be advised this is at your own risk.

 

This property is a non smoking property.  External areas ONLY may be utilised for the smoking of cigarettes / cigars.  Also if any illegal substances are located or found on the property the result will be immediate eviction and charges may be levied against you.

 

Please note check in is at 2 pm and check out is at 12 noon.  Late check outs can be granted upon request, subject to availability, and after paying an applicable fee of US$100.00.

 

All damages and/ or missing items are accountable under the damages contract signed directly with Tropical Villas St. Lucia or with your Tour Operator or Travel Agent.  All charges are to be settled prior to departure.

 

International calls cannot be made from the telephones at the villas, unless a cash deposit or credit card pre-authourisation is made and then these lines can be  opened.  Once this is done, guests are then liable for all international calls made from the telephone line.  This also includes international toll free numbers dialled outside of the country as these DO incur charges locally.

 

No pets are allowed on the property.

 

All bookings are subject to a 25% non refundable deposit required to confirm a reservation and the balance is due 45 days prior to arrival.  For Christmas / New Years bookings, a 10% supplement is applied to regular high season rate and a 50% Non refundable deposit is required and the balance is due 60 days prior to arrival.  We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover you in the eventuality of a cancellation.

 

Please note that villas are for the exclusive use of resident guests only.  Any extra guests must be pre-advised and pre-arranged through Tropical Villas Management.
